The Floating Theater – A Gilded Age Murder Mystery: Your host William Chapman, Sr. and his family are pleased to welcome you aboard the pride of Pennsylvania, The Floating Theater, a showboat like no other. Setting sale for New Orleans, you and the rest of the guests are in for wonderful journey. The year is 1878, America finds itself in a new era, marked with rapid economic expansion. It’s a time for innovation and technical advances. But it’s also rife with grift, materialism, and corruption…after all money isn’t everything, it’s the only thing. As you embark, things don’t go as planned and your host is found dead. How far will someone go to ensure their place in society? Is someone on this voyage a murder? It’s up to you to deduce who the vaude-villain is in this murderous melodrama.
Cost: The cost for this 2-day/1-night trip is $400pp/Quad, $450pp/Triple, $475pp/Double and $575pp/Single Occupancy. Children 12 & under rooming with a parent/guardian (limit of 2 children/room) is $315 per child & does not change the room occupancy for pricing purposes, as kids stay free at the hotel. In other words, 2 adults & 2 children is considered Double NOT Quad Occupancy. This trip includes your transportation to & from the listed events. Also included is 1 Amish-style dinner, 1 served lunch & 1 smorgasbord breakfast. Additionally, it includes hotel accommodations, some light breakfast options at departure (breakfast bars, juice, etc), light snacks & bottled water on the bus, games, prizes, tips for all included meals & driver tip. (The price for children under 12 years of age includes a “goodie bag” instead of the adult games/prizes). “Moses” is not recommended for children under 5 years old.
Itinerary: We will start the day by boarding our spacious 55-seater, restroom & video equipped Motorcoach and set out for Lancaster in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. We will make a restroom stop on the way. Our first stop in Lancaster will be Kitchen Kettle Village for a little shopping & lunch at your expense. Next, we will check in at the hotel & freshen up for a tour of The Amish Village followed by an Amish-style dinner. We will have a short time after dinner for the gift shop & a self-guided tour of The Amish Village property before we head over to Sight & Sound Theatre to see “Moses” performed by a stellar cast. After the show, we will head back to the hotel for the night. In the morning, we will begin our day with a smorgasbord breakfast at the hotel before heading over to the Bird-in Hand Farmers Market for a little shopping. Feel free to bring a small cooler if you would like to take home any meats, cheeses, etc. You can get ice at the hotel before we check-out. From here, we will board the bus for Mount Hope Estate & Winery where we will enjoy a served meal & a murder/mystery experience. We will have a brief opportunity to shop before we finally board the Motorcoach for the final time and begin the journey home.
Notes:
· We will not be stopping for breakfast on the morning of departure, so if the light breakfast options on the bus will not be sufficient, please eat before boarding the bus or pack a breakfast.
· Bring a blanket, sweatshirt, or sweater in case you get chilly on the bus. It is hard to find a temperature that suits everyone, but it is always an easy solution to put on another layer.
· Luggage handling at the hotel will be on your own. This service has been declined for our group.

*Cancellation policy – all money is fully refundable until 45 days prior to departure, unless otherwise noted. After that, you will receive a full refund less any non-refundable charges (i.e. theater tickets, service fees, etc.- which depends on exact cancellation date). NO REFUNDS within the 30 days prior to the trip, unless a substitute is found for your reservation. Written notice of cancellation is required before any monies are refunded. You can always transfer your reservation to another person.
In the event that Sight & Sound cancels their show, you will receive a full refund. In the event of any other more “minor” itinerary changes, a reasonable & comparable substitute will be made at the tour leaders’ discretion.
